About

An engineering firm, built around staying

Most software problems we are called in to fix were not caused by bad engineers. They were caused by someone leaving.

Short answer

BetterSoftZ is a software engineering company based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. We build custom business systems, web applications and mobile apps for organisations in Bangladesh and overseas, covering design, engineering, testing, cloud and ongoing support, and we deliver in both Bangla and English.

Why we exist.

A pattern repeats in this market. A company commissions a system, it gets built, and then the people who understood it move on. Nothing is documented. The hosting account belongs to someone who has left. A year later the business is running critical operations on software nobody can safely change.

We built this firm around the opposite assumption— that you should be able to replace us without it costing you anything. Code lives in your repository from the first commit, infrastructure runs in your accounts, and documentation is written for an engineer who has never met us.

In practice, clients stay. But they stay because continuing is the better option, not because leaving is expensive.

How we work, stated plainly.

These are commitments you can hold us to during an engagement, not values on a wall.

Say what we actually think.

If a package would serve you better than a custom build, or the honest answer is that you should fix the process before automating it, that is what you will hear — even when it costs us the work.

Leave nothing locked up.

Code in your repository, infrastructure in your accounts, documentation written for an engineer who has never met us. Clients should stay because the work is good, not because leaving is expensive.

The people who scope it, build it.

No handover to a junior pool once the contract is signed. The engineers in discovery are the ones writing the code, and any change to the team is discussed with you in advance.

Show progress you can verify.

Working software on a staging link every two weeks. Progress is something you open and use, not a percentage in a status report.

Build for here.

Mid-range Android, shared logins, patchy connectivity, Bangla interfaces and local payment rails are design inputs from the start, not problems discovered during user testing.

Stay after go-live.

Most systems need the most attention in the three months after launch, when real usage exposes what testing could not. That is when a vendor disappearing hurts most.

What we do not do.

  • Take equity instead of fees — it would make us a worse advisor
  • Quote a build price before scoping the process
  • Put junior engineers on your project after selling you seniors
  • Hold your hosting, domain or app store accounts
  • Recommend a rebuild without showing the arithmetic
  • Take work in a sector we would be learning on your budget

About us

Common questions

Where are you based?

Dhaka, Bangladesh. The team works from here for clients across the country and overseas, in Bangla and English.

How big are the projects you take?

From a single focused system for one department to multi-module platforms and long-running dedicated teams. What matters more than size is whether the problem is one we can genuinely help with — we turn down work that sits outside that.

Do you work with overseas clients?

Yes. Bangladesh Standard Time overlaps a full working day with the Gulf, South and South-East Asia and Australia, and the morning with Europe. For North American clients we agree a fixed overlap window rather than pretending the whole day aligns.

Can we meet the team before committing?

Yes, and you should. You talk to the engineers who would do the work, not only to an account manager, before anything is signed.

Talk to the people who would build it.

No account manager in between. Describe the problem and an engineer will tell you what it involves.
