RADAR — Spotting Students Who Are Falling Behind

A report card shows a problem after it has happened. RADAR watches attendance, marks and homework through the term and flags a student while there is still time to help.

What is RADAR?

RADAR is a student early warning system that BetterSoftZ builds and runs for Bangladeshi schools and colleges. It watches attendance, test and term marks and homework through the term, flags students whose record is slipping, and alerts the class teacher and the vice principal in charge of that section. It keeps a one-page record for every student and runs on its own for ৳25 per student a month, or inside Vip SchoolZ.

Why report cards come too late

By the time a weak result shows on a report card, the term is over. The signs were there earlier: homework missed several times in a row, marks in one subject falling from one test to the next, absences that cluster on the same weekday. In a large section, a class teacher cannot track all of that by memory, and a student who is slipping is easy to miss until the result arrives.

What RADAR watches

RADAR follows each student through the term. It shows when marks in a subject keep dropping, flags attendance that falls below the institution’s threshold and patterns such as repeated absences with no reason given, and counts homework missed in a row. Students are sorted into those who need attention now, those to keep an eye on, and those on track.

Alerts that reach the right person

An alert goes to the class teacher and the vice principal in charge of that section — the people who can act on it — rather than to the whole staff. Each student has a one-page record with marks, attendance and fees together, so a guardian meeting starts from the actual record instead of a complaint.

Marks, GPA and report cards

Behind the alerts sits the marks record itself. Teachers enter term and test marks in a grid, RADAR works out the Bangladesh 5-point GPA, and report cards and tabulation sheets come out as PDF, so the same marks feed both the warning and the result.

Part of Vip SchoolZ

RADAR is also part of Vip SchoolZ, our school and college management system. It comes with the Sovereign Excellence plan at ৳30 per student a month, alongside AutoRoutine, and there it reads the attendance and marks your staff already enter. Schools that use other software can run RADAR on its own.

Frequently asked questions

How is RADAR different from a report card?

A report card summarises a term after it has ended. RADAR looks at the same kind of record while the term is running — a run of missed homework, marks dropping from one test to the next, repeated absences — so a teacher can step in before the exam.

Can we use RADAR without Vip SchoolZ?

Yes. RADAR runs on its own next to the system you already use, for ৳25 per student a month. Inside Vip SchoolZ it comes with the Sovereign Excellence plan and reads the attendance and marks your staff already enter.
